Biography

Dr. Arpita Roy is Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Asutosh College in Kolkata. Dr. Roy was awarded Gold Medal for 1st class 1st rank in B.Sc. (Chemistry, Hons.) under University of North Bengal. She obtained her M.Sc. from IIT Delhi. She obtained Ph.D. degree in Chemistry form IIT Kharagpur in 2018 with CSIR NET fellowship. Dr. Roy completed 3.5 years of postdoctoral research from Washington University and Cornell University in the United States. Later on, Dr. Roy obtained prestigious Marie-Curie Co-fund Fellowship for Postdoctoral Research during 2021-2023 in Dublin City University, Ireland. Later on, she joined as Assistant Professor in Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, Visakhapatnam in 2023.
Academic Interest

Biophysical chemistry, biosensor development, drug or pathogen screening, excited state dynamics study of molecules by different fluorescence spectroscopic techniques [Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS), Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (FLIM), Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching (FRAP), Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscopy (TIRF), Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC)].
